Re: Do you go to the Fair?

I think next year we'll check out the Ohio State Fair, but it sounds like it'll be on par with a Minnesota county fair.

I'm planning to sign up to wherever he goes.

I would follow that man through Mordor right to the Cracks of Doom.

Re: Okay Twins, what you got?

The Twins are the only team in this town who have managed to avoid breaking our hearts (twice, even).

They'll still break your heart, though.

Re: Do you go to the Fair?

What sucks is that my kids start school in the middle of August, so getting to the Fair would be difficult at best unless we go home for Labor Day.

Good deal?

And what does it say that they're already planning for the next lockout?

Sounds like CF offered one of Tuch, Greenway, and Kaprizov.

Not sure how I feel about that.

Re: Vegas gets Haula and Tuch

Look at it like this: We traded Haula and Tuch for Dumba or Scandella. Does that make it more palatable?

What if we trade Scandella for another forward? (From MTL? For Galchenyuk, perhaps?) Would that make it easier to swallow?

Ottawa

Big game, big win. I was there with my boy. I thought they looked solid for most of the game. Some thoughts: ⋅ Some jerk started cheering when they announced Kumps as a healthy scratch. I lol'd. ⋅ RCMP Corporal sang O Canada. I never thought it possible to sing with a Canadian ac...

Re: youth hockey

It's standard practice in USA Hockey and the ADM to play half ice through mites. Squirts start playing full ice because they are generally bigger kids.

Re: And Another Thing: There's No Reason to Play Up

G*, reading your comments, I can see one other exception: If all your kid's friends are a little older and playing at a higher level, I can see making that argument. But even then, I'd be like "You don't have any buddies who will still be one level down???"

And Another Thing: There's No Reason to Play Up

I don't think kids should play up in sports.

Re: Granlund or Nino?

I think Granlund has shown he's "slipperier" than PMB was. That is to say, he's harder to hit. He really hasn't had an injury since the Brute Squad picked him up and threw him into the boards. He really hasn't been clocked like, say, Zucker, has.

Re: Granlund or Nino?

Granlund has a higher ceiling, Nino is a consistent performer.

I'd keep Granlund, until he gets a conky, then scramble to replace his talent somehow.

Re: Hanzal it is

NHL players have talent. Every single one of 'em. What sets the real pros a cut above is 1) work ethic 2) being a pro 3) thinking the game. There's a quote up on the wall at Pleasant Arena in St Paul: "If you don't like it, too bad. Somebody else will, and they will work it and they will be th...

Aaaand Pulkkinen is gone now too. For Future Considerations. They couldn't even get a tweener center to replace Dalpe?
