Russo leaving the Strib - so what now?

Postby NickinNY » Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:36 pm

Russo leaving the Strib. He has said he will continue to cover the Wild. No official announcement yet as to where he may be going - although word is LEN3 let it slip on KFAN? No announcement yet from Strib on a replacement on the Wild beat.

For me, as long as he continues to provide the same level of coverage, I don't care where he does it. That said, I already cancelled my Strib digital sub. I probably can keep my reading to under 10 articles a month, and that's per device, right?

I'm planning to sign up to wherever he goes.

I would follow that man through Mordor right to the Cracks of Doom.

Offically @TheAthleticMIN, now.

As someone who paid for a digital Strib subscription because of Russo, it was a no-brainer for me to switch that money over to TAMIN. I'm not sure I think the business model can last, though. I love not being barraged by ads, but can they drive enough revenue?

Yeah I saw the discount link he had. Sounds intriguing.

so looks like 250+ new subs yesterday. At $41/year, 250 subs is $10,250 in new revenue. That covers two road trips for Russo.

Russo said in his initial meeting with the founding fathers, he thought he could hit the number of subscribers they were shooting for by July on the first day alone.

Mission accomplished.

Does this mean Russo is a blogger now?

I'm pretty sure it does, Mike. So, does that mean that he beat us, THEN he joined us? I don't think that's how it's supposed to work.
